- 1). List each source according to MLA bibliography style guidelines. Types of sources include, but are not limited to, books, magazine and journal articles and online documents.
- 2). Provide a summary for each bibliographic entry. Summaries include, but are not limited to, main arguments, point of the cited reference and reference topics, according to the Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL).
- 3). Add an assessment and/or reflection of the cited work to each summary. An assessment might include statements that evaluate the source's credibility, objectivity, and/or a comparison with other sources you used. A reflection might give you a chance to note how the source fits into your research, according to OWL.
- 4). Enter annotations in paragraph form. Annotation lengths can vary from two sentences to two pages, depending on the scope of your paper, according to OWL.
