Do you think you know what motivates people to start their own businesses? I don't pretend to be an expert here, but I did recently tally the results of 100 people's responses to why they are looking to start one.
So, given the choice between more time with family, freedom to do what I want, be my own boss, or get rid of debt, what do you suppose the most popular choice was? Was one of those your "big why?" They are all excellent reasons and all reasons that I would choose at one time or another.
Bringing up the rear is be my own boss.
15% chose to be their own boss.
One thing to remember when trying to recruit these folks is to show them how they can take control of their life and their goals.
They are seeking control - show them they can take it.
Emphasize that there is plenty of opportunity for growth and they get to determine how much, how fast, etc.
Next was more time with family at 18%.
When recruiting these people, be sure to focus on flexibility.
Show them how they can make the opportunity work around their family's schedule.
A two-on-one with a successful colleague working during school hours would be a great way to show this.
Freedom to do what I want came in second with 28% of the votes.
These are the people who need to see the massive income potential and the chances to win the incentives.
They want to have their cake and eat it too.
They dream big, show them that it is all theirs for their taking.
Show them they can be free.
Finally, by a whopping 39%, in first place was get rid of debt.
This really says a lot about our society right now.
It implies that people have really gotten in to financial trouble and are now seeking debt-freedom.
We have the opportunity to really help people here.
Be sure to share your opportunity and your resources on how they can take this additional income to reach debt-freedom.
We are so blessed to have the opportunity to help so many people.
Don't forget to find out their why.
You need to know their motivation if you are to help them see their potential in your opportunity.
If they don't see it, nothing you can do will be able to convince them.
