Am I Going To Be Able To Have A Girl Or Boy Baby With Irregular Periods?

I often hear from people who are worried about their ability to become pregnant when their periods either come multiple times over of a month's time or don't come at all. Sometimes, these folks will have a lot of periods over a short amount of time and then have none at all for several months after that. Because of their erratic period schedule, they begin to worry that they will have problems becoming pregnant and choosing their baby's gender.

I heard from someone who said: "my cycle is very irregular. Some months, I will have 2 or 3 periods in just that one month. And then, I may go for a couple of months when I don't have a period at all. My gynecologist says that not every one is perfectly regular. But I worry about my ability to become pregnant. And I really do want a girl baby. I worry that it will be impossible for me to choose my baby's gender since I might have so few ovulation opportunities to work with. Is choosing my baby's gender going to be an impossible process for me?"

I certainly don't think it is impossible. But it may require a little more work than it would with a more regular cycle. However, the steps for becoming pregnant and choosing your baby's gender are actually the same whether you have perfectly regular periods or not. You have to pinpoint your ovulation time. You have to conceive in the right time frame around your ovulation. And you have to make sure the environment is conducive to the gender that you want.

Women who have irregular periods may or may not be ovulating regularly. The only way to really determine this is to test yourself for ovulation on a regular basis. Since you don't have regular periods to give you some clues, you'll likely just need to test yourself weekly or even daily if you can swing that. Using the reusable saliva predictors can be extremely cost effective when you have to test this much. That way, you don't have to continue to buy the disposable kind over and over again. It's possible that you might find a pattern to your ovulation. If so, this will make it easier to gauge when the time will be right to conceive.

If you want a boy, you should conceive once ovulation has already taken place (or after you get a positive on your ovulation test.) If you want a girl, you should conceive in the days approaching ovulation (which is before you get a positive.) This timing can be a little more challenging. But it's very possible using a saliva predictor, as you will see a very distinct pattern on the slide as ovulation approaches. Ovulation timing will probably be your biggest challenge. But you'll also need to take a look at the environment that you have created for your partner's sperm. An acidic environment favors girl babies, while an alkaline one is best for boys. That's why you'll probably need two tools here: the ovulation predictor and the PH tester. In this woman's particular case, she'd want to conceive when the slides were telling her ovulation was days away and her PH was acidic. Having one without the other is leaving a lot to chance. If her PH wasn't acidic, she would need to make changes to her diet in order to get the correct reading. (Douching will also achieve this.)

As I said, your diet and your timing are two factors that influences your baby's gender.  If you're still not one hundred percent sure how to best approach all of the factors, I've put together a few websites that explain the process in depth.
