At an early age, I caught the flying bug.
I realized that flying was one of the greatest experiences in life.
For those that are not pilots they may not understand, but for those of us that are, there's no place we'd rather be than flying overhead.
If you love to fly, and you'd like to spend more of your time doing it, then maybe you should start your own business down at the airport.
There are lots of things you can do, you can become an A&P mechanic, you can become a flight instructor, a charter pilot, or perhaps you could start a business cleaning aircraft.
This is something I did at a very early age while I was working on my flight time.
Okay so let's talk about this for second shall we? Being self-employed certainly has its advantages, and you should always try to find a business that you have passion for, and something that you very much like to do.
Since I love airplanes, cleaning airplanes was a fairly obvious choice for me, when I started my business career aircraft cleaning was my first business in fact.
What does it take to get into this business you ask? Well, you'll need a commercial activity permit out at the local airport, and they will want to do a background check to make sure you're not a terrorist and think like that.
Then you'll have to do a little marketing to get some customers.
Over time your customer list will grow, and if you do quality work, show up on time, and do what you say you are going to do you should have plenty of referrals.
From there the business will grow itself, all you have to do is show up and do the work, or show up with a crew to make sure it gets done to the aircraft owner's satisfaction.
Is there more to it? Oh surely, like anything there is a learning curve, but that's not too bad considering that if you love airplanes, you'd rather be out at the airport anyway, and you won't mind learning new information in this sector.
Of course, today you're probably just cruising around the Internet getting ideas.
Perhaps you're not even in aviation, and that's okay too.
But might I suggest that whatever you do, you incorporate what you like to do, or what you love to do with your next new small business concept.
Indeed, I believe if you will consider this, you will be well on your way to success, no matter what business model you choose.
