The Importance of Lights

Creation is upheld by the light, which drives away the darkness to reveal the vibrant nature that is under lined in creation.
Light is what drives away darkness and gives us the knowledge of things around us.
Our lives and patterns are determined by the light that makes the day and creates the night.
The earliest source known to man was the natural light and energy that he received from sun, moon and the stars.
Knowing these to be from the nature, he worshipped them as gods.
He then discovered fire and adapted fire in his daily life.
Modern man found out the secret of generating electricity from natural resources and today one cannot imagine a life without electricity, lamps and bulbs that lighten up our lives.
We use sunlight in daytime to illumine our homes and buildings.
Houses and other buildings are built to allow sunlight to stream in through the roof, windows and other openings in the walls.
Of course the sunlight and brightness is controlled using screens, curtains and shades, which block the sunlight and allow only that much as desired.
You home and buildings receive sunlight during daytime and the amount of sunlight depends upon the design of the building.
Right during construction this aspect is kept in mind and accordingly windows and openings are placed strategically to be able to allow sunlight through out the day.
But after the evening sets in, one needs to have other sources of illumination to be able to light up the place.
As the sunlight faded with the sunset,, homes used to glow with the fire burning from lamps, lanterns and candles giving a soft glow in the room and firewood in open places to light up the place.
Candlelight is perceived to be romantic as well as soothing and healing.
The soft light has a spiritual effect and spreads a feeling of calmness around.
Today we have a highly developed lighting industry that produces hundreds of varieties of lamps using electricity and other sources with a wide range of bulbs, lamp shades, fittings and accessories that can be used for internal and external lighting.
One cannot buy bulbs of one type and u se it all over the building.
Different areas and different setups require separate kind of bulb, type of light, fittings and fixtures.
Illumination is an art and one needs to understand how to play with light to create the right setting.
