How to Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas - Everything from Gifts for Mom to Photo Albums and Mo

Winter is one of the warmest seasons. The cold weather brings people together and the snow on the evergreens is quiet, still, peaceful. Even though the days are short, there are lots of things to celebrate - being alive, at home with your loved ones, and obviously, Christmas. This article goes over the items you need to have yourself a merry little Christmas year after year.

1. Gifts for Mom: Your mother brought you into this world. That said, a card just won't cut it. Moms like practical things, as well as items that make them feel special. If your mom has enough jewelry, there are lots of other gifts she'd appreciate, such as, drink dispensers, photo albums, a wine carafe, fine candlesticks, and other tabletop accessories that will remind her of you season after season.

2. Glass Cake Stands: Okay so maybe dessert isn't as important as the Christmas dinner itself, but I know that in my house, it's what gets everyone the most excited. A glass cake stand is a beautiful way to display any dessert that you don't want touched - yet. Believe me, that shield of glass makes a big difference to the little kids who just want a taste and wind up sticking their fingers in the cake. Not like I've ever done that or anything. Ahem.

3. Music: Good Christmas music can't be beat. Everyone has their favorite Christmas song, whether it's The Nutcracker overture or Frosty the Snowman. Buy a CD or two of your favorites and let them play over and over and over again. Even if they get old, tell yourself that it's going to be another year before you hear the same songs.

4. Christmas Tree: What would Christmas be without a tree? You don't have to get a fourteen foot spruce--heck, you can even have a mini fake tree. As long as you have something you can deck the Christmas lights on, you will enjoy the holiday.
5. Wine: The holiday season is made for warm drink, or for drinks that warm. Egg nog, cider, punch, wine, whiskey--anything that makes you feel tingly inside is a great addition to Christmas. If red wine is your choice beverage, a wine carafe can help mimic the aging process that contributes to the high cost of an older wine. If your poison is whiskey, whiskey decanters allow you to warm up in front of the fire and relax comfortably.

These five things are what you really need this Christmas--not the latest electronics, newest DVDs or trendy clothing. Spirit, love, and happiness are more important and way more lasting than the top item on your Santa list. So make sure you surround yourself with good food, drink, music, and people, and you will have a Christmas worth singing about.
