Operational Evaluation
- Use different evaluation methods to determine how management carries out, or implements, the organization's goals. You have different kinds of research methods at your disposal, such as survey research methods and employee self-evaluations, but what's crucial is studying program implementation. Some organizations consider what the organization and its employees put into work activities and what results are produced -- or inputs and outputs -- in evaluating program quality. Other organizations use performance evaluation tools to evaluate program needs. The percentage of employees falling below expectations on a particular question in the tool might indicate an organization-wide problem in employee training or manager development.
