How to Drain a Jacuzzi

    • 1). Turn the thermostat all the way to the lowest temperature setting.

    • 2). Unplug your unit.

    • 3). Look for a drain connection which you can connect a garden hose to or which you can connect a rubber tube to. If you do not see a connection, then use a screwdriver to remove the panel where the electrical cord enters your Jacuzzi enclosure. Look for a drain connection behind this panel. Connect a garden hose or other hose and then turn the knob or the lever to open the connection and allow the water to drain.

    • 4). Submerge a garden hose in your Jacuzzi if there is no drain connection. Allow the hose to fill completely with water. Move the hose around until all air bubbles are out of the hose. Keep one end of the hose under water in your Jacuzzi, and plug the other end of the hose with your thumb as you lift this end of the hose out of the Jacuzzi and set it down in a place lower than your Jacuzzi and then remove your thumb. Water should start flowing. Keep the other end of the hose in the bottom of the Jacuzzi until all of the water drains out through your siphon.

    • 5). Refill your Jacuzzi and plug it back in. Do not reset your thermostat until after your system has started running and your heater is filled with the room-temperature water that you have just added to your tub. Now reset the temperature control to the proper temperature and allow the system to run until the water has been brought back to its proper temperature. Add chemicals as per your system's requirements.
