The Specifications of a 2002 F150

    • The Ford F-150 is part of Ford's F series of trucks which was introduced in 1948. There have been many changes to the F series, yet for the past thirty years the F series has been the most popular vehicle sold in the United States. The 2002 F-150 came in several models, including XL, XLT, Lariat, Lightning, King Ranch and a special Harley Davidson variant.

    Engine

    • On the 2002 F-150, a 202 horsepower, 4.2-liter V6 engine came standard on the XL and XLT models. The Lariat and King Ranch models came with a 231 horsepower 4.6-liter V8 engine, while the Lightning came with a 380 horsepower 5.4-liter V8. The Harley Davidson variant came with a 340 horsepower 5.4-liter V8.

    Transmission and Drive Type

    • The XL and XLT models came standard with a five-speed manual transmission, with available four-speed automatic. The King Ranch, Lightning, Lariat, and Harley Davidson models came with a four-speed automatic transmission. Each model was available in rear-wheel drive as well as four-wheel drive. The Lightning was available only in rear-wheel drive.

    Payload

    • The XL and XLT models could haul a payload of up to 2,000lbs, while the Lariat could carry about 1,740lbs. The Lightning model could carry up to 800lbs. The King Ranch could haul up to 3,000lbs, while the Harley Davidson variant could haul almost 1,900lbs.
