How to Care for Twig Catfish

    • 1). Keep your Twig catfish in a large fish tank with a few other fish and none that are extremely territorial. Include plantings, sandy soil and bogwood in the tank. Keep the lights dim. Place a guard on the heater in the tank as twig catfish will latch on to heaters.

    • 2). Keep the water quality at a high level for your twig catfish. Maintain the tank water temperature between 75.2 and 78.8 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the water pH between 6 and 7. Put water hardness levels between 3 to 10 degrees H. Keep the current low.

    • 3). Provide food at least once a day in the evening. Feed your twig catfish algae wafers and sinking pellets, as well as vegetables such as zucchini, kale, blanched spinach and cucumber slices. Keep some algae in the tank for feeding your twig catfish. Allow some pollution in the tank to produce infusoria.
