Fleas are the most horrible pests that I have even encountered.
I am a very clean person and have never owned outdoor pets.
I never thought that I would have to fight a horde of fleas.
But I did, and it was only with the advice of a few great friends that I was able to gain the upper hand! Once I had found out why the cat was always hiding and realized what I was dealing with, I bought the first can of flea spray that I could find.
I also put a flea collar on the cat, which did nothing.
In fact, I noticed the fleas on him easier because they would climb on the fleas collar.
The sprays seemed to work a little, but at over ten dollars a can I was expecting instant flea eradication.
I needed help and asked an old friend what she recommended.
She taught me some great tricks.
Number one, sprinkle Borax around your house and really work it into all of your carpets.
Number two, get some garlic extract, thin it with some water and rub onto your pets' hair.
Number three, the cheap cans of RAID Flea spray works better than any other spray at killing them immediately.
Borax is available in the laundry section of your grocery store.
It is safe for most uses and very inexpensive.
I sprinkled it all over the house and worked it into the carpets with my feet.
I then mixed up the garlic juice and water and with just a few drops on my fingers rubbed down the hairs on the back of my cat.
It worked instantly! I watched the fleas running for the hills! Finally, I removed the cat from the house and went to town with the RAID.
