- 1). Begin with the vital information for the CD. Get all the track names in order and include the duration for each song.
- 2). Put in contact information if you are an independent band. If not, put in label or booking information so that people interested in hearing more or hiring you for a gig know where to go. Don't forget to put your website information in as well, and if you don't have a website, get one.
- 3). Include the band personnel next, and what instrument they are playing. It's best to list the names alphabetically and be democratic. Include brief bios to tell listeners about you if you have played with well-known acts.
- 4). Write out a bit about the band and see if you like the way it sounds. You certainly don't need a mission statement, but if you can say a sentence or two about your music and where you are coming from, it can help people learn about you. If it feels forced or uncomfortable, don't use it.
- 5). Write a list of acknowledgments, people you want to recognize that have helped you produce the CD. This could be recording engineers who worked long hours, someone who gave you your first break or friends and family.
- 6). Proofread the entire text carefully. It is even better if you can have someone else look at it, as it is easy to miss errors when you have written something yourself.
