If you're in the market for a great part time (or possibly full time) job that pays great, then you should think about getting a job as a valet parking attendant. These jobs are pleasant and with tips, (on top of your base salary), can be pretty financially rewarding. In addition to the nice pay, the job comes with more benefits. Like freedom, for one thing. At many valet parking employers you're allowed to pick what days you want to come in.
It's apparent a valet parking job can be really cool. But how do you secure one? What are valet parking companies hunting for in prospects? The firms can afford to be quite strict when it comes to choosing more workers, due to the fact that the jobs are so rewarding. Well, let's discuss what makes for a desirable job applicant.
First thing, they'll be looking at your driving record. Since, if you get the job, you'll be driving their customers" cars, that will be of primary concern. They will require that you bring in a certified copy of your driving record from the city police department. They are looking for people with spotless driving histories. The best prospects will be the ones that have zero violations and no collisions. Are you saying that if an applicant's driving record isn't squeaky clean that they can't get hired? No, not always. The vast majority of prospects will have less than perfect driving histories. But the less problems a job seeker has, the better.
Second, they'll expect you to show them a certified copy of your police record. Needless to say if someone has a few arrests for illegal acts, they're probably wasting their time. The firms aren't going to be interested in someone that they're scared may drive off with a customer's automobile or cell phones.
Drug screening will almost certainly be required, for obvious reasons. Lastly, appearance will be a major factor. Not that a job seeker needs to be a knockout. We're not talking about looks. But a person who desires to get a job as a valet parking attendant has to look like a pro. What this boils down to is that lots of piercings or tattoos are going to be a real obstacle.
Those are the big ones! So if you fit the bill, you have a real good chance of getting hired!
