- Kindle users can download books for this device from the Amazon Kindle Store. You need to register your Kindle with your Amazon account before downloading. Using a Kindle or the Kindle app for iPad, view documents that are in an EPUB or PDF format. Amazon stores books you buy from the Amazon Kindle Store in your Amazon account so you can upload these to your Kindle as many times as you want to and share them with others.
- Download the Kindle app for iPad from itunes.apple.com. The Kindle app allows you to synchronize books from your Amazon account to your iPad. The app automatically syncs the last page read and any notes you have made so you can spread your reading between both devices without having to synchronize them through your computer. iPad users can also share newspaper subscriptions between their Kindle and iPad.
- To share books between your iPad and Kindle, first you must synchronise your iPad with your Amazon Kindle account. Open the Kindle app on your iPad and enter your Amazon account details when prompted. This will register your iPad with your Amazon account. Go to amazon.com/manageyourkindle and find the book you want to transfer to your iPad. Click on the downward arrow next to the book and select "Deliver to my...." Chose your iPad from the list of registered devices and click on "Deliver."
- Whispersync is the technology that automatically syncs between your Kindle device and your iPad app. This is automatically turned on within your Amazon account. However, if someone else is reading the same book as you under your account or different Kindle devices are registered to the same account, turn this off to avoid synchronizing someone else's notes or page. To do this, go to "Manage Device Synchronization" within your Amazon Kindle account and click on "Turn Synchronization Off."
