However, there are criteria that must be followed:
  • The area is mostly used as your place of business
  • You meet clients in the area
  • Even if it's not attached, the area is part of your home.
    Home repair costs may entitle you to tax relief, as well as part of your rent if you don't own your home.
Lodging fees and transportation - if you drive, fly, or take a cab to meet your clients, tax relief may be possible.

  • Taxicab fares
  • Gas for your vehicle
  • Repairs for your vehicle
  • Parking expenses
  • Long-distance phone calls, or part of your overall phone bill
  • Business meals
Consultant and legal fees - If you retain a lawyer and/or have an accountant specifically for your business, some of the cost may be deducted for tax relief.
