The unlawful immigrant is at fault, there is no uncertainty about it, but chances are he can't pay the ER tab thus liability is irrelevant. When this takes place, the hospital or clinic is taking a loss that has to be passed onto the consumers that do pay.

This of course makes the insurance agencies have to pay more, which makes your premiums more. It is really that easy, as long as individuals in this nation don't have insurance, those that do will be paying extra.

Profit

Each corporation and individual involved in health care builds on a bit of profit. Since there is no limit to profit, these expenses can grow out of control. Think about a prescription, for example, I realize that there is a massive cost of research and development and an additional considerable charge to get the product approved by the FDA. As a result, when the medication reaches the marketplace, the medication company has to charge a bulky sum to make up for the costs to develop that drug.

If the revenue doesn't arrive, the shareholders will get a tad nervous. Of course, you also have to tack on the costs to have a big profit to show Wall Street.

When all is said and done, the profit margin could easily pass 300 times the costs. The sting is compounded by the fact that often these drugs are taken multiple times per day for an extended period of time. The premiums have to go up so the insurance organizations can pay the charges and keep a massive profit.

The individuals that clean the flooring, provide the tools, doctors, equipment manufacturers, the associations, and everybody in between all take a chunk off the top.
This is no more than a tiny part of the companies and people that are profiting from your visit to the hospital.

A healthcare professional and hospital's biggest worry is they are going to overlook something they shouldn't have when you go to the doctor.
