History of Disney World in Florida

Disneyland all began with one man's creative imagination.
A man who has the heart of a child's.
It is actually a fulfillment of a place where dreams come true.
The man behind the infamous Disneyland is none other than Walter Disney, himself.
Walt Disney World started back in Anaheim, California.
Although the place was truly a success, Walter Disney just couldn't help himself but dream more and put up "Disney World".
The first choice of Walt Disney was to look for a place in Florida, particularly in Sanford.
He proposed to the city council about what he was planning to put up but due to unfortunate circumstances, his request was denied.
After Sanford, he then decided to go to Orlando.
The minute he got there, he fell in love with the place's network of roads that were already developed as well as the sunny weather.
The warm environment was really inviting and it made Walt Disney think of how perfect the place would be for a theme park.
Walt Disney incorporated much of his concept and ideas to planning Disney World and this was done along with the devoted and keen management and his "imagineers".
The sad part is, Walt Disney passed away before he could even see Disney World come to life.
When 1968 came, the construction of the theme park started and is now under the management of Walt Disney's partner and brother, Roy Disney.
Roy Disney also gave his full time and support to realizing the dream of his brother for he set aside his retirement just to work on the project.
By October 1, 1971, Walt Disney World Resort opened its doors to the public which really enticed a lot of people because they were able to experience getting into a theme park that was taken to a newer level.
The place was called Walt Disney World because the people behind it wanted the place to be in memory of his brother who was after all the man behind all the magic and creativity in the project.
Only after three months after the park started its operation, sadly Roy Disneypassed away.
Walt Disney World's first ever main theme park was Magic Kingdom.
Together with it were the three hotel resorts that also opened which were: Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Resort and Disney's Fort and Wilderness Resort & Campground and a golf course that was introduced to the public which was the Palm and Magnolia Golf Courses.
The theme park had 5,500 cast members at the beginning but today the park has around 66,000 employees.
It is said that Magic Kingdom is actually the twin of Disneyland back in Anaheim, California laid over 25,000 acres of land.
The whole theme park's concept is majority of what Walt Disney really had in mind and it is really amazing how a person's imagination can come to life in the form of a theme park that not only was fun for kids but even for grownups as well.
Disney World currently has four major theme parks which are Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom.
You will also find two water parks namely Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach.
It also has plenty of restaurants and gift shops that are each interesting in its own way because each of them has a unique theme.
If that's not enough, there are also tons of hotels and resorts that you can choose from according to what will suite you during your stay as you come to visit Disney World.
The expansion and development of the place is nonstop to make sure it can offer the latest technology and offer only the best to its guests and visitors from different parts of the world.
