There is no doubt in life that, no matter how pious or dedicated we may be, or even how much we resemble model citizens, we are not beings that are beyond temptation or beyond the actions of deviants.
It probably makes us more susceptible in fact.
That's why even though you are an avid member of a church, or the head of your local neighborhood watch it doesn't mean you won't be dealing with the consequences of sex addiction on a community or church.
This is a fact, that we are human beings no matter how closely we regard the divine, or keep true to our principles.
And being a sexual deviant, who has to deal with the consequences of an addiction to illegal sexual activity doesn't make you any less of what you choose to be.
It just means you have something new to learn about yourself, that you have to control, and regulate properly.
Now, you may ask how deeply this problem may affect your life, well; let me tell you that you may have to deal with consequences of sex addiction on the job and even beyond just your church.
This all however can be avoided, by getting the help you need; in fact a lot of this help can be offered by the same church you don't want to shame.
Churches can offer spiritual support all while you're dealing with your problem! And this in turn can make it so much easier for you to conquer your addiction.
It is important for every addict to understand that the longer they hide their addiction, the more damage it will do spiritually, mentally and emotionally.
Remember King David's words from when he was covering up his affair with Bathsheba and the murder of her first husband "When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.
" Psalm 32:3.
It is best to get your sin out in the open before it destroys you from the inside.
Also, remember that David's sin lead to him murdering an innocent man to cover the affair.
As the addiction rots your insides, it will spread to affect your church and community as well.
