For the past few months, I can distinctly remember myself as having problems falling asleep.
There would be nights where I would toss and turn aimlessly trying to find a new position or angle that would help propel me to sleep.
No matter what pillow I grabbed or what position I was in, it was all in vain.
I absolutely could not sleep.
It was because of this that I would spend some time in my days thinking of the possibilities of why it was, but I think I finally found my answer.
I have concluded that sleeping without a pillow is much more natural for your body.
It was at one point that I was pondering why it seemed so easy for me to fall asleep in the Yoga relaxation pose (which is basically laying flat on the ground) but when I tried to sleep on my bed, I could not get comfortable and had a hard time falling asleep.
I'd even thought of just sleeping on a Yoga mat at one point.
When I thought of that, I made a connection and in an instant, threw my pillow aside to attempt to sleep.
I admit, the moment I did that, it was a very awkward and strange feeling.
I tried to put those feelings aside and concentrated on sleep.
It wasn't long until I passed out into a deep slumber.
For about a week now, I've been sleeping on my back without a pillow and I'm already noticing some significant differences: • I'm falling asleep faster.
• I feel taller because I'm walking with my back straighter.
• I have more energy in the morning, making it easier to wake up.
I could not be happier with my find.
As I continued experimenting, I also found that utilizing a pillow is actually beneficial when you are sleeping on your side.
When you sleep on your side without a pillow, that's when your head will lean at an awkward angle.
Utilizing a pillow helps balance that out and keeps your head level with the rest of your body.
For all other positions though, I have found that sleeping on your back without a pillow has been the most comfortable position and quite possibly the most natural for the body.
