How to Relieve This Ringworm Itch

How do I relieve this ringworm itch? This question has really bugged my mind for a couple of days.
I am a mother of a 9-year old child.
He went to my in-laws for a vacation.
He was there for six weeks.
When he got, I observed that there's something growing on his scalp.
It was a red patch at the back of his head.
I wasn't sure what is it so I asked him what's in his head.
He said, "I don't know mom, but it's really itchy!" I took him to the pediatrician to consult these patches.
I was surprised when the doctor said that it was ringworm.
So an antifungal cream was prescribed to my son.
My son followed the treatment for a week, but then, he's still complaining of the intense itch.
He has even reached to a point where he cried because it was really uncomfortable.
Someone told me to use Hydro-cortisone to go with the anti-fungal cream to relieve the itching, but still, it didn't work.
I tried giving him anti histamine to relieve the itching, and also to help him fall asleep (he also have problem in sleeping because of ringworm itch).
And still, nothing seems to work! I was feeling hopeless that time.
So I posted questions on the Internet on how to relieve the itch of my son's ringworm.
After a day, I got tons of replies! Although most of them are not really to relieve the itching, I find their advices really interesting.
Here are some examples: •Apple cider vinegar can treat the ringworm infection.
Just soak a cotton ball into pure apple cider vinegar and apply it to the ringworm-infected area.
It is a natural anti-fungal that balances the pH level of your skin.
This is also an antiseptic, so it keeps the skin clean without doing any harm.
•Tea tree oil can also treat ringworm itch.
You just have to clean the affected area and apply tea tree oil thinly on the affected skin.
Do this several times a day, using a cotton ball.
Tea tree oil can treat the ringworm because it contains terpinen-4-ol which kills the fungus.
Tea tree oil is absorbed rapidly by the skin, so it provides a quick solution.
•You can also try to apply sea salts to the affected area.
This dries out the fungus.
Although it can be a bit harsh on the skin, it can effectively get rid of the ringworm.
You just apply the scrub or a mixture of sea salt and water to the area several times a day until the red ring has disappeared.
•Native American Indians use black walnut to cure ringworm.
This is a natural remedy that is proven effective.
Green walnut has a layer of black paste or oil inside it.
This paste is what you need to treat this itchy ringworm.
Just apply the black paste to the affected area several times a day; the ringworm will be gone in a couple of days.
Since they are natural remedies, I have tried those ingredients to my son.
And the Tea tree oil remedy seems to work.
My son said that the oil has minimized the itch on his scalp.
So I started using it.
And now, the patches on my son's scalp were gone, but I am still applying the oil -just to be sure it doesn't come back.
So there, even though I have not found a way to relieve my son's ringworm, I still managed to find a way on how to treat it.
There are a lot of treatments for ringworm, natural or synthetic.
But whatever you use, you have to be sure that they are safe for your skin.
