Fives miles off the hustle and bustle of the US 192 strip that features every type of restaurant and tourist attraction, is the surprisingly peaceful Green Meadows Farm. (The farm is within 15 miles of Walt Disney World.)

Green Meadows Farm is a big hit with tourists who want to take a day and slow down from the hustle of the theme parks, especially tourists with children.

It is described as part working farm and part tourist attraction.

Here you will see the sights, sounds and "feel" the farm on a walking tour that includes 14 stops or points of interest. The walking tour, consisting of groups ranging from 10 to 30 visitors, is on-going so there is no predetermined start time.

The highlight of the farm has to be the "hands on" experience of milking a real Jersey dairy cow. After a short instructional session on how to milk her, anyone who is inclined takes his or her turn at trying to obtain milk. Kids on the tour were thrilled with the experience, even if they didn't always succeed in getting milk from the cow.

Green Meadows is a very quiet and peaceful way to spend at least 2-4 hours. Other highlights of the tour include pony rides for all children in 2nd grade or younger; a train ride for adults and children that snakes through the farm for approximately 1/2 a mile; a tractor drawn hayride that lasts around 10 minutes and the opportunity to pick up baby chicks and ducks, and see a whole host of other animals.
