The Importance of Dog Training Biting Dogs

Every dog is capable of biting. Some people have dogs for protection to scare away intruders. On the other hand, if you bought your dog just to have a pet and not a protector, and she is a biter, you should start dog training for biting as soon as possible to stop her from doing this.

You do not need your dog to hurt your friends and family or some neighborhood kid. Plus, if a dog bites someone, their owner can be sued. Dog training your biting puppy is very significant for you as an owner.

It is never too soon to initiate the training. In fact, it is recommended to start teaching them the second you bring them home. Puppies will good-naturedly bite and chew, but they should be taught only to fool around with their toys and that it is not alright to bite people.

By saying, "No!" when your puppy bites and not playing with her after that for several minutes as punishment, the puppy will learn that biting is not acceptable.

Spend time everyday playing with your puppy and once she bites you, maintain the same routine and it will not be long until she understands that it is wrong.

Experts stress how important socialization is for puppies. The more they are around others, the more they will become comfortable and will cease the nipping and biting.

Older dogs will show signs before biting, such as, growling or showing their teeth. If this happens, confidently call your dog and remove her from the situation that is upsetting her. This may possibly be another dog or a stranger getting too close to your dog's comfort zone.

In any case, it is important to deter the dog away from this form of behavior. Giving her dog training for biting will allow her to consistently discover that there is no position for this kind of behavior and when it is done, she will be punished by being ignored.

Believe me, ignoring her is more powerful than hitting and yelling. This is because although hitting and yelling are negative actions, it is still displaying attention, and, dogs love this attention whether positive or negative.
