If you are planning to do some internet marketing for your business I highly suggest email marketing as an option! Today many people stay away from email marketing because they are afraid of being accused for spam. That is so wrong, if you don't use email marketing as an option for your business you'll miss many potential customers.
Anyway, we suppose that you are going to start use email marketing for your business so first step is to build a mailing list. In this article I'll discuss how you can build this list and some further information about email marketing.
You made a wise decision to start using email marketing for promoting your business and now we are going to talk more about how you could build a mailing list!
One way is to buy a mailing list from other distributors; this method is not as effective as we marketers want it so I can't recommend this option.
The common problem when buying mail lists are that you can't know for sure if those people are interested in your products or services at all. Mail lists from other distributors are like buying a lotto coupon and while we want to target our email campaign to customers that may be interested in our offer we got to find a better solution.
But if you was lucky when you bought the list you maybe get some users who can be interested in your offer but most likely they are not.
Today people on the net including myself are quick on deleting mails
we think are spam without even reading it. We look at the subject, who sent the mail then we make a fast decision, delete or read! Many mail service providers have spam filters that automatically delete your mails if they think it is spam.
These spam filters check the subject heading and content of the message, if they consider your mail as spam then say goodbye to your mail it won't get through.
So doing email marketing this way are a high risk and your marketing campaign can be a complete waste of money while most of recipients never read it or even get it.
A better way is to create your own mail list, ask current customers as well as interested customers to signup for your newsletter to receive information and updates about products and services that might be interesting for them. Example, offer them a "10 day course in building a profitable email list" if they signing for your newsletter.
In this way you provide yourself with a database of email addresses from current and potential customers who have shown an interest in your products, services and want to learn more or buy from you.
Once you have built up a list of interested customers and potential customers you must continuously send mails and create newsletters. But it is important that these mails or newsletters are high valuable information combined with brief info about your products and services.
Always deliver high valued information so people spread the word how good your site is. When readers have confidence in your business this also results in more sales. Include useful links to either your website as well as other websites which may be of interest to your readers. And your content should contain information that urges the reader to take action and make a purchase or at least investigate your product further.
