Do you mind if I ask you a question? What is your main job? I mean, the definition of main job could be what you do in order to get money to feed your family, have fun with your friends and enjoy yourself with that brand new LED-TV.
It also could point to what takes most of your time and for lucky persons, it could mean what make they happy.
So if what is stated above is the definition for a main job, what would be the definition for a secondary job, or a secondary income stream? It really depends.
Some people consider their hobby a secondary job, but mostly of times, it is not a secondary income.
Others consider a less expressive income and a less time taking activity as their secondary job.
In my opinion, what really defines your secondary job is your education.
I mean, let's say you graduated as an Engineer.
The primary activity you do, which is at least partially related to engineering is your primary job.
Whenever your other money related activities, they are considered secondary income streams.
Usually people look for alternatives when they are short on money, when the economy in general is going through a crisis or when they want to increase their acquisitive power, to afford more expensive and fancier products.
Activities not related to money are not considered secondary jobs on my opinion.
I mean, come on, don't disqualify your free time to the point of considering what you do for fun as a way of living, as something you must do on a regular basis, as a job.
Playing an instrument, painting, writing poetry, playing video-games or slacking off laying on the floor, it doesn't matter, there should be a balance between what you think you need and what you need for sure.
