It's not as hard as people think.
Technology and human ingenuity have served to make the internet so much more intuitive and easy for the layperson to access.
Here are some reasons I believe everyone should have a personal (maybe business) blog.
- Blogs are part of the new business model.
It is common knowledge that traditional media models are dying.
Newspapers all across the country are going down because they haven't adapted to this new paradigm.
Though I don't believe they will ever disappear completely, I think it will be a decline from here on out, and then level off at some point. - A blog really is (not 'like') IS your Avatar to the online world! It is your interface, and a form of self expression that has the potential to reach millions.
A myspace or Facebook page does not have the potential to go viral like a blog page can.
Not even close.
And it's fun! - Both a positive and negative, the internet has the characteristics of a true new frontier where humans can gather information.
There is still plenty of room to operate out here, and though competition is fierce in many obvious places, there are still areas (niches) out there which are still relatively pristine, untouched and waiting for you to find them. - Connections: Business, friendship, relationships, informational, there are myriads of reasons why people create blogs.
The reasons for creating one are as varied as the personalities of humans! But who could not benefit from more connections, whether it be friends or for business? - Ad revenue.
Yes, you can monetize your blog.
Again, there are a myriad of ways to do this.
This itself is easily a full-sized book of information itself, and is a topic I plan to delve into further into the future.
Stay tuned! - According to Google itself (which should know these things), barely 30% of the world population is online.
Judging by the most recent information, there does not appear to a world trend of declining internet usage.
Even the United States, which is easily the most internet-saturated country in the world, still has room to grow.
I hope you can easily see how the internet is here to stay
The internet is not going anywhere, it is only going to grow, and a blog is in a perfect place to grow with it.
Blogs are the new online sensation these days for many good reasons, some of which I explain above.
One thing I didn't mention: It is common knowledge among the web developer community that Google Loves Blogs! Which means blogs tend to have a higher search ranking for keywords than traditional websites, in general.
So if you want your website to actually be found by Google, you are not making a bad personal or business decision to go with blog creation!
