How to Install Rigid Chimney Liners

    • 1). Attach one end of a flexible chimney liner to the damper insert in your fireplace using the provided hardware. Screw in the connector screws to secure the flexible liner in the collar of the damper. Then run the other end of the liner to the wood stove pipe. Attach the end of the flexible liner to the wood stove pipe by sliding the liner over the pipe and securing it with the provided collar and screws.

    • 2). Slide the end connection (called the termination end) over the rigid chimney liner pipe. Using a screwdriver, tighten the collar around the connection to secure the end to the pipe.

    • 3). Measure the length of the installation from the point of termination at the hearth, to the top of the chimney. Add on an additional foot to this length. Then cut the liner to this length with a metal saw.

    • 4). Lay the liner on top of your insulation wrap and then wrap the insulation around the liner. Apply metal duct tape to the insulation at the seam to secure it in place. Place the insulated liner on metal mesh, cut to the length and width you need. Multiply the pipe diameter by 3.14 and then two inches to get the proper width. Wrap the insulated pipe in the metal mesh material and secure it with hose clamps (included in your liner kit).

    • 5). Carry the liner up the chimney using as much help as is necessary to complete the task. Place the end of the liner into the chimney and slide the liner down through the chimney to the bottom until the bottom connector reaches your termination point. Cut off the top portion of the liner where it intersects the top of the chimney. Caulk the edge of the liner and install the top cap onto the pipe.

    • 6). Secure the bottom liner to the connection point on the appliance (stove or fireplace). Tighten the connector screws securing the bottom of the pipe in place. If you have a kit with a different connector for the bottom, or you have another appliance where this does not work, install the proper bottom termination connector to the liner bottom. Secure the installation as instructed and insulate as necessary.
