Sometimes I'm amazed what comes out of the mouth of my son, Cody.
On the way to our recent vacation, we started talking about why people do or do not recognize the full potential of their power.
I suggested that love, self awareness and the cleansing of past guilts would transform people into realizing that they are the ultimate power in their lives.
That the constant search for answers to who they really are lay simply in the fact that the search itself takes them away from looking within.
"If only they didn't look to government, religion and philosophy for the answers.
" I said.
"The fact that we created these entities to provide us with the answers, shows us that the truth resides in each of us already.
We alone can set ourselves free.
" "Oh, they already know that, Dad.
" Cody said.
(he's 15 years old) "They are just scared of the responsibility.
" When each of us searches for love, how often do we tuck tail and run when it finally seems we have found it? Too many of us use getting close to someone as a filling station to make us feel whole, then get scared that our true natures will have to be exposed to a stranger when we begin to get close.
Yes, love can be a huge responsibility...
but being comfortable with ourselves is the key to really stepping up and connecting with our soulmates.
Imagine how grand relationships could be when both parties were totally comfortable not just with each other, but with themselves first.
For love to really work for you, and I might add that the real reason for love's existence, is to teach that you are the ultimate power in everything you do, think and feel.
Love is a gift.
A gift from you to someone else to create a union of souls that is the essence of Heaven on Earth.
It provides the vehicle to find the answers within yourself.
To give you strength and confidence that you know who you really are.
To be comfortable with every aspect of your soul despite the guilt, doubt and lack of self esteem.
Love knows none of these things.
It is created by two individuals that hand each other the keys to unlocking the power of their existence.
A huge responsibility? Possibly.
But one that unleashes the answers.
Love is but the discovery of ourselves in others, and the delight in the recognition.
Through love, you will know who you really are.
