- 1). Double-click on the object you want to modify. Click the "Insert" button, "Convert to Symbol" and click the "Graphic" option.
- 2). Right-click a frame from the Timeline control depending on how long you'd like the color effect to last. A higher-number frame -- 10, 20 or beyond -- will make the color effect occur more slowly, while a lower-number frame will make it occur more quickly. Click the "Insert" button from the menu. Click the "Insert Blank Keyframe" option.
- 3). Double-click the object to select it, and press the "Modify" button and click on "Instance."
- 4). Open the "Effects Panel." Click the "Alpha" option from the drop-down menu; type "0" in the percentage box and press the "Enter" key.
- 5). Highlight the first frame, and then click the "Modify" button and click "Frame."
- 6). Click the "Motion" option and press "Enter" to save all the changes.
- 7). Click the "Control" movie button and "Test Movie" to observe the color effect.
