Think of north Norfolk and you think of sandy beaches, crabbing, flying kites or having a picnic in an idyllic spot on the coast.But Norfolk has so much more to offer to any visitor especially. If you are staying in any of the North Norfolk hotels, there are some delightful unspoilt villages with a cosy pub or restaurant serving fresh local Norfolk produce.If you are looking for some bracing sea air, then you can head off to Brancaster beach, a large expanse of soft sand where you can build sandcastles to your hearts content, have a stroll or a paddle.If you are staying at any of the Norfolk Boutique Hotels the coast is never far away with places such as Wells-next-the-Sea well worth a visit. This is a traditional fishing port and holiday town on the beautiful North Norfolk coast.One of the more memorable sights of Wells, and an image of Norfolk you will take away with you, is the row of brightly coloured beach huts.There is also the old port of Cley-next-the Sea, which is only a mile away from open water, which is held back by marshes. These marshes have increased in size over the years making it a sanctuary for numerous birds which visit throughout the year and is a haven for any bird watcher to visit. The first thing you notice upon entering Cley from the road or the marshes, is the glorious 18th century windmill, sitting proud on the edge of the marshes and is a photographer's delight. There's many an amateur and professional cameraman that have captured a fantastic shot, with the windmill in the foreground.Not too far away is Blakeney Point, a three mile long sand and shingle area which is also a recognised bird sanctuary. And if you want to see the seals as well they can be found just off Blakeney Point with regular boat trips out to see them basking on the sand.One of the attractions of this area is that it has many of well-known Norfolk Restaurants or Norfolk pubs where you can enjoy the best of local produce and a locally-brewed beer.
