Water Is Life - At Least for Humans

Over the years, off and on, I've been a member of the World Future Society.
Part of what goes on there I find problematic for my conservative viewpoints of free-markets, but I do like the intellectual debate, at least they are thinking even if much of the utopian strategies which are discussed are bathed in communist or socialist theory, neither of which as a free-market trained entrepreneur I find all that appealing to say the least.
Yes, let's talk, because one of their common topics is water shortage - it's a real issue, worthy of a plan to solve the challenges we face.
There have been many papers written on the potential for future water wars.
Even the Pentagon addresses this in their Quadrennial Reviews.
After all, water is life, at least for humans and it is indeed, the first thing we look for when exploring the viability for colonizing another planet or moon, for good reason too.
There was a rather telling article in World Affairs recently (September - October Issue 2013) titled; "Blue Gold: The Coming Water Wars - Water, Peace, and War: Confronting the Global Water Crisis Brahma Chellaney (Lanham: Rowman & Littlefield, 2013," by Gordon G.
Chang.
And although there have been numerous books written predicting major worldwide outbreaks of war over water in the past, this rings home, because unlike those articles and books of the last decade, we haven't done much to stop our further over use of water since, now things are just that much more serious, and it's only going to take a small spark with the short fuse that exacerbated.
The article stated; "Yesterday, nations went to war for land.
Today, our conflicts involve energy.
And tomorrow, Brahma Chellaney writes, the battles will be about water.
The award-winning author believes that Mark Twain was right when he said, 'Whisky is for drinking, water is for fighting over.
' There is blue water, green water, even virtual water.
But however labeled, water is the world's single most important resource.
Life is not possible without it.
It will likely determine our future.
" So much for water under the bridge this time, because there is no water in the river anymore.
Right now, we are depleting our ground water in the US, just as is happening in countries around the world, when it runs out you can count on a good deal of chaos, especially when there isn't enough for farming, industry, or god forbid drinking.
It's already happening in so many parts of the world.
The problem is real, and each year it gets worse.
Global Warming hurry up already.
A hotter climate or hotter ocean temps means more evaporation, thus more rain in the rain cycle.
Maybe we need to be thinking about that rather than trying to stop climate change.
Please consider all this and think on it.
