- 1). Pull the cap off the pen and remove the top from the ink bottle. Place the ink bottle on a flat and steady surface to prevent spills.
- 2). Place the tip of the nib (writing end of the pen) in the ink. No more than half of the nib should be submerge in the ink.
- 3). Pull the lever up and count to 10 and release the lever. The lever will allow the ink to enter the nib and fill the barrel. Remove the pen from the ink bottle.
- 4). Blot the excess ink on the nib on a clean cloth. Test your pen to see if it writes correctly.
