The Top 5 Speed Bumps New Entrepreneurs Face

Throughout the course of my internet marketing research and careers I have noticed many speed bumps that face many new beginners online. So I want to help give you some tips and advice for you so that this will not hinder your creative process

Speed Bump #1 - Deciding Your Niche Topic

A niche is just a word which simply means subject. The subject can be very broad or it can be very decisive. My suggestion is to start with just very general categories so that you can narrow it down in further steps that we will perform a little bit later. It is just starting point.

Many individuals have no clue as to what they should get involved with to produce profits. Well this is where you must set yourself in a quiet area and remove all of your distractions in order to be completely honest with yourself. No pets, children, TV, music, etc. and ask yourself what are you knowledgeable in. Start by constructing a list of about 20 general broad answers to this question. Once you have done that you will have your starting point. This list can be on anything that you desire. For example, dogs, cats, fitness, weight loss, etc. Maybe you have a friend or neighbor that you have helped out with their taxes. These are excellent starting places for you

Speed Bump #2 - Time Management

A niche is just a word which simply means subject. The subject can be very broad or it can be very decisive. My suggestion is to start with just very general categories so that you can narrow it down in further steps that we will perform a little bit later. It is just starting point.

Speed Bump #3 - Goal Setting

I realize that this is not an online function but this is extremely important to your success. Take some time to write down what it is that you are expecting to achieve when you are setting up your business. This is going to be how you are going to evaluate your level of success. My recommendation is splitting up your goals into categories. These will later become your milestones that you have developed.

Start out with achievements in categories of:

30 days: Answer the question of €What do I want to accomplish within the first 30 days of startup?€
3 Months: Have a list of what you want to have by the end of this three month period.
1 Year: What do you want to have done by the end of the first year that you are in business?
3 Years: This is the list that you want to accomplish by the third year of business operations.
5 Years: Have a list of what you want to accomplish by year number 5.

Make sure that after your first year of business operations that you make quarterly goals for the fiscal year that you will be in operation. These lists will help keep your determination and focus centralized. Everyone has different ideas as to what is successful so don't try to compete with your neighbor (let's say) as (s)he may want different things out of life. This process is strictly for you.

Speed Bump #4 - Information Overload

There are so many websites popping up all over the internet now a days. It is just too complicated to listen to everyone and everything that you see and read. One person may say that article marketing will not get you traffic to your site while the next person will swear up and down by article marketing. The thing here is to find something that works for you. Test it and master it. Once you find that method that is producing your desired results stick with it. Do not go after the latest and greatest thing that is out on the market. You may find yourself going out of your business budget and that could spell disaster for you.

Be careful of the saturation factor as well. All that means is that you have many people out there that have teams of people that work for them developing products and gimmicks to feed on the emotional buying power that you have. Remember that they are in the same boat as you. They are out online to make money.

Speed Bump #5 - Not Having A Business Plan

This may be foreign to you but whether or not you want to admit it. Your business is going to be your baby. You have to have a plan for raising it the right way. Have all of the legalities set up, do everything on the up and up. The only way to accomplish this is to have a well thought out business plan. A business plan will change depending on the level of success that you are achieving and you will want to update it accordingly.

Your business plan does not need to be complex. It just needs to have the things that you will be doing about your business. For example, what does your business do? What is your marketing plan? What is your budgeting formulas? Are you going to be getting financing for your business? Things of that nature. If you are not really sure as to some of the things that are in a business plan then you can download a template from Score. Just go to the following website address:

http://www.score.org/resources/business-plan-template-startup-business

Now if the above template doesn't work for you then just do a Google search for exact match keywords like so: €business plan templates€ in the Google search bar and then sift through the results in which you like better. The key thing here is get a business plan together.
