- 1). Determine where you want to install the asphalt curb and mark both ends of the curb installation area with red spray paint.
- 2). Hand-shovel the hot asphalt onto your driveway along the marked area forming a line of hot asphalt that is 8-inches wide and 6-inches tall. (The curb is just a few inches taller than the curb's desired final height.)
- 3). Pack down the top of the curb with the flat tamper tool by leaning down on the tamping tool with your weight.
- 4). Angle the tamper tool at 45 degrees and place it on the side of the curb. Press down on the tool, compressing the side of the asphalt. Repeat this step on the other side of the curb.
- 5). Repeat steps 3 and 4 along the entire length of the asphalt to form your curb.
