About Linen

This, of course, applies to linen which has been used and washed a few times. Raw flax fibre, however, is covered with a wax film which prevents the fibres from absorbing dampness, which you might notice in new, unused linen textiles.
Because of its resistance to absorbe water and dirt, curtains made from linen fabric maintain their stainlessness for an incredibly long time - much longer, in fact, than other natural fibres such as cotton.
