- 1). Go to your county tax assessor's website. Most counties have property tax rates online, including the Mello-Roos tax additions. You will need the address or parcel ID number to complete the search. The search results will show the most recent property tax breakdown with Mello-Roos-specific property taxes on a separate line.
- 2). Call your county tax assessor's office if the property tax information is not available on the website. As with an online search, you will need the address or parcel number to obtain the county property records.
- 3). Contact the Community Facilities District that services the area in which the house or property is located and ask how much the Mello-Roos taxes are. In a few areas, the county does not collect these property taxes and you will need to contact the district directly. If you do not know which district to contact, your real estate agent or county tax assessor's office can provide you with that information.
