Do you want to play a Nintendo DS game with your friends, but you don't know how to set up your console and your friend's system? Here is the way.
Before you follow the tutorial step-by-step below, you need to know that there are two types of multiplayer game play: DS Download Play and Multicard Play. DS Download Play requires that only one console has a copy of the game while .Multicard Play requires that each player has a copy of game on each Nintendo DS console. Multi-Card Play often provides players more game options than on DS Download Play.
To connect two or more systems, Nintendo DS consoles are characterized by wireless connection. There are two types of the connections: Wi-Fi connections and local wireless. The local wireless connection is for connecting two or more consoles locally While Wi-Fi connection needs a router to connect the consoles. Wi-Fi connection is also used for accessing Internet in a hospot area. (Wi-Fi is the standard wireless connection - also used in computer networking.)
Here is how to build up local wireless connection by using the games featuring DS Download play.
1. Turn your Nintendo DS on. Make sure the game card have inserted into the system slot.
2. When the "Touch the Touch Screen to continue" message appears, tap the screen using the stylus. If the Startup Mode of the host DS console is set to automatic, the game's menu will appear. But if the Startup Mode is set to Manual, tap on the box for the Nintendo DS Card Slot using the stylus to start the game.
3. Turn on the other Nintendo DS console which will be connected to the systems to run the game. Tap on "DS Download Play" icon.
4. Then the list of available games will be displayed. Tap one of the titles you would like to play to begin downloading the game.
5. Make sure that you have got the multiplayer instructions of playing the game with your friends.
To play Multiple Game Cards Play, you have to see its instruction manual. Each game has its own setting for playing it with your friends. If you have a problem in connecting your system wirelessly, make sure that there is no signal interference from other devices.
