- The wildlife loop is home to bison, deer, elk, coyotes, burros and a variety of birds including eagles and hawks.
- The best time to see wildlife on your drive through the loop is during the early morning or late evening hours in the spring; this is when the animals are naturally the most active.
- It is best to drive slowly, less than 30 mph, while driving through the wildlife loop to avoid startling animals and to get the most visual experience. Allow two to three hours for the drive.
- It is not a good idea to feed the animals even if they approach the car. Human food can make wild animals sick.
- There is a wildlife station located on the southeast end of the loop where you can obtain information about the flora and fauna of the park.
