- 1). Measure around your bolster pillow with a flexible tape measure. Add four to six inches to this measurement, opting for the higher number for a larger pillow. Measure the length from the center of one end to the center of the opposite end. Add eight inches to this measurement. Write down both of these measurements.
- 2). Cut your fabric to size, using the measurements from Step 1.
- 3). Turn one inch of each short end of the fabric down and press. Turn down again, creating a doubled one-inch hem and iron into place. Open out this fold and apply fusible hem tape according to the manufacturer's instructions. Hem both short ends of the fabric with the hem tape to make this no sew bolster pillow cover.
- 4). Press a half-inch hem into each long side of the fabric for your bolster pillow cover. Use starch or sizing if appropriate for your fabric for a firmer finish.
- 5). Pin one long side of the bolster pillow to your no sew bolster pillow cover. Place these pins near the ends, as you will be removing them later. Wrap the fabric around the cushion and pull taut, overlapping the two long sides as much as possible. Pin the top layer into place, removing the pins beneath as you go.
- 6). Gather one short end of the fabric in your hand. Wrap with a length of ribbon and tie tightly. Repeat for the other end. Remove the pins holding the long ends together.
