Training the biceps is the hardest part of bodybuilding for a lot of people.
These small muscles seem to be the most difficult to stimulate maximum growth.
The real reason for most people that they can't get their biceps to grow is they're over training them.
Muscle magazines are one of the reasons for so much overstraining in the gym on these small muscles.
You pick up any magazine and head for the section that says "Bigger Biceps In 6 Weeks.
" Once you turn to the section you'll see a workout that is a massive 20 to 25 sets just for biceps alone.
You could train your whole upper body with 25 sets if you wanted to, and still stimulate growth.
This amount of sets just for your biceps is way too many.
This will cause either no growth at all, or your progress will go backwards.
To stimulate growth in your biceps so they continually grow from week to week, you only need to give them 4 good sets.
They get enough training when you're doing your back exercises.
If you're lifting enough for your back you'll be training your biceps at the same time.
You should also train your biceps on the same day as your back so they get a full week to recover.
If you do your back one day and the your biceps a couple of days later then they are getting two workouts a week, and this won't give them enough time to fully recover for the next workout.
If 4 sets a week isn't making your biceps stronger then you need to look at the way you're training, and what you're eating.
