Some pin options may not be available in this short amount of time, but others are.
Here's a quick guide for getting those pins in time and still get pins that look great.
- Gather all the information you will need to have your pin designed.
This includes any art or logos (electronic format preferred), any additional art ideas and wording. - Determine the size and number of pins needed.
- Set a budget.
- Contact a pin manufacturer and pass the information on to them.
Ask for a proof sent to your email. - Approve the proof.
You may want to consult with others in your group.
A new set of eyes viewing the proof will sometimes catch a subtle mistake. - Place your order.
Be sure to give your correct shipping address.
Remember, large pin orders are heavy and should be sent to a physical address, and not to a P O Box.
Always add a day or two to the estimated delivery time for any unexpected shipping problems. - When you receive your pins, check them over carefully before distributing.
Contact the manufacturer if there is a problem.
Photo dome pins are sometimes manufactured using "blanks" or backs that have already been manufactured and then your design is applied to the face.
This cuts down on the time needed to produce these pins and still results in a great looking pin.
Be sure to ask the designer if this type of pin is available.
Be sure to order enough pins when you first place your order because getting additional pins will require the same amount of time to manufacture as your original order.
Costs per pin are less as the number ordered increases.
For instance, if you place an order for 500 1 inch pins, they will cost more per pin than if you order 1,000 1 inch pins.
Sometimes it is good to have extra pins in reserve since their cost will be so minimal.
If you follow the steps above, you should be able to get lapel pins for your event on time and they'll be good quality and great design.
