If you are a veteran or a rookie of Network Marketing, you already know that this question is one of the most polarizing questions in the business world. The legal definition of a Network Marketing company is one that promotes product or services sales, more than the registering of distributors. ACN does adhere to that definition so the ACN Pyramid Scheme question is not valid.
The Federal Trade Commission describes a legal MLM as one that focuses on product/service sales, as well as sponsoring new distributors. ACN fills that necessary part. However, with any company that you think about partnering with, it is crucial that you research them. This can give you great insight as to the credibility of even legitimate companies. While you are checking a company, be sure to include researching the executives and owners of the company. If they have a shady background or you are not comfortable with what you find, then perhaps you should look elsewhere. That being said, regardless of the company or the main players, you will always find them listed on various complaint blogs and sites.
The Federal Trade Commission has a couple of rules to determine whether a company is legal or not. The ethics of a company does not come into play! By law, any company that does not sell a product/service, yet promotes signing up distributors, is illegal. Any company that sells products/services and still promotes adding new distributors is legal. That is a simple explanation, but those are really the ground rules.
To help you determine which company to be involved with, take time to consider these thoughts. Try to find a company that offers products that matter. In other words, something that people can use to change their lives, save them money, feel better, etc. Then look deep into the compensation program. Is it difficult to maximize your efforts and those that you sponsor into the business? How long have they been in business? What is the rate of drop offs? Have they been able to maintain their database of retail customers?
ACN is a global communications company. They sell satellite services, phone service and products in that category. While they are certainly in a growing industry, there are a lot of companies offering great ways to get your business. ACN has had some good and bad press. Again, making a decision to get involved with them should be a personal choice and you should use your own intelligence to determine if this is the right company for you.
Considering that all Network Marketing companies have a compensation plan which rewards you for bringing customers and distributors into your business, it is important that you understand all aspects of the plan with the company that you go to work with. The hot program right now is a matrix. This means that while you build one side of the business, the people above you will be building the other leg. The more people you add as both customers and distributors, the more people you get paid on, from the other side.
So, do your homework! Seek out companies that you are comfortable with. ACN appears to be doing many things correctly. In the end, it is still up to you. Your efforts. Your time and your money. Take some time, do not think of any of these companies as get rich quick deals, and you can find a great part time and maybe full time business.
