Don"t Get Caught Carrying Your Prescription Drugs in Your Car

If you get pulled over by the police, and they see that you have drugs in your car, then a lot of times they don't care whether or not those drugs are part of your medication. They can give you a ticket and charge you with a misdemeanor. For this reason, it is actually a good idea to carry your prescription with you, just in case you get pulled over by the police. This is especially important if you need to have medication routinely, and you often take it while you are driving in your car.

For instance, I have a brother-in-law that requires anti-seizure medication for driving. If he has a seizure while he is driving, he could injure others as well as himself. Having the medication on hand helps to protect him and other people while he is driving.

I also know a lady who had a cat in her car that jumped on her head. As a result, she swerved off of the road. A cop saw her, and when he found that she had medication, but didn't have a prescription to show, he gave her a ticket for reckless driving and possession of illegal drugs. By going to court and showing her prescription to a judge, she was able to get the charges against her dropped.

However, if you want to avoid having to go to court and going through all that hassle, it is a good idea to always carry your prescription with your drugs in the dashboard, because first of all, they're out of sight, so you're less likely to have your vehicle inspected. And second, if you do have your vehicle inspected, you also have the prescription that proves you have a right to carry those drugs. If you do get accused of drug possession, make sure that you get a great criminal defense attorney to help protect your rights and keep you from spending time in prison. Having a really good criminal defense lawyer who will advocate and protect your rights, will really make a big difference in the outcome of your case.

What Makes A Good Defense Lawyer?

A good criminal lawyer is one who is fully equipped with the knowledge of the law, one who possesses a lot of experience handling criminal cases, and has won most of those cases. A good lawyer is also a good negotiator, armored with the power of persuasion to convince the judge or the jury of your innocence. He or she should be aggressively willing to fight and defend your cause. Most of all, a good criminal lawyer should have the sincerity and overwhelming dedication to make sure that the judge returns a "not guilty" verdict for you.
