When you work for any of the armed or emergency services, the first thing they tell you is that when you are in a low visibility area, you have to make sure that other people see you.
It is one of the most important parts of training.
This is because they don't want you to be killed by accident, when you are helping someone else.
First and foremost, you, as their employee, are their highest priority.
There is always a chain of command, and if something happens to you, then it is their responsibility.
Just like when you make the decision to help someone, they become your responsibility.
Being seen in low sight conditions, is such an easy and cheap thing to do that if you are killed because you aren't seen, then it truly is a tragedy and it could have been easily avoided.
Now, if you are responding to a traffic accident, then you put cones around the accident zone, where they can be seen.
They have reflectors on them and other cars will see them with their car lights.
If you are going off the road, then leave cats eyes along your path so people can find you and you can find your way out.
Always take a torch, a flare and a radio, or cellular phone with you.
This way you can easily contact someone else if you get into trouble for yourself.
These are all about looking after yourself in certain situations where you might be on a public road, or you don't know the area very well.
If you are in a dark area, then you have to make sure you are wearing reflective military clothing.
Sometimes these are bright yellow in color and sometimes they are dark but they have reflective strips on them.
It doesn't matter which one you wear, as long as it will make you visible in low light situations.
It is personal preference, but if you are in the middle of nowhere and there are no cars or street lights, then you must wear the yellow style because this will increase the chance that you will be seen with the naked eye.
If you are in the military or one of the armed forces and you don't want to be seen, then there are ways to do that as well.
It is all about the way that you dress to suit your surroundings.
Army fatigues are the best idea in this situation.
You will see some sort of warfare in the jungle, in the desert, or in the city streets.
That is why they have options in green, sand, black and grey.
You pick the one which best suits the area you are going to be fighting in.
If you are in this situation, then you do not want to choose the reflective clothing.
If someone is going to be hunting you, you can bet your life that they will have a torch and if you are in the jungle, trying to hide, your reflective clothing will make you easier to be caught.
Being in one of the armed forces is not an easy life.
You are going to be in danger every day so you want to give yourself the best shot of surviving.
If you are helping someone out when there is an accident, you need to stay alive because if you are the only person on scene, then their life will depend on yours.
You have to reduce the chance of you being in an accident so that you can help more people.
