Your article summary may be the most critical component of your article right after the title. Why is that? It is because the title and the summary are what readers see when scanning search engine results. So as to get folks to read your article, you must grab their interest with a very good summary. Here are three tips to attract a reader's interest:
1) Ask a pertinent question that includes your search keyword phrases. Identify specifically what your readers are trying to do. What is the dilemma they are trying to solve, the question they are trying to answer. It may be your readers need to save a romantic relationship, stop a spouse from snoring or earn money online. Regardless of what it is, ask a question to interact with the readers and begin the thinking process. If you ask a question in the initial sentence of your summary, the readers will continue to second sentence to get the answer.
2) Answer the question. In one succinct sentence, inform the reader exactly how to solve the problem. You won't give any detail here, naturally, but you need to let the readers that you have the answer to their question, the information they need. The readers must know that a more detailed answer lies within your article and they only have to continue reading to find it.
3) Tell the readers what they need to do and the reason why. Begin the third sentence of your summary with an action verb for the readers, try something like "Learn how," "Find out about" or "Learn what they don't want you to know about." These aren't only action verbs, but they imply that readers will get some good information by reading your article. Then inform the readers precisely what they'll learn. "Five ways to," "The secret of," "How the experts," something like that. Bear in mind, you want the readers to understand there's useful information and facts in your article and all they have to do is read it.
When you learn to write an effective summary that provides readers a real reason to read your article, you should see your article views increase rapidly. Bear in mind, whatever your topic, there are actually tons of articles just like it on the net. You have to give readers a genuine reason to choose your article over all of the others.
