Article directories, also known as article submission sites, permit members to post article content on the site for distribution across the Internet.
  Here's how it works: o    A user joins an article directory and signs up as an author.
o    The author writes an article (usually at least 250 words) about a topic of his or her choice and includes links back to his site (in the article text and/or author box) o    The article site syndicates the article and encourages other websites to "publish" the article on their websites.
  All other publishers must reprint the article intact and include the author's box and links to the author's site.
Distributing articles in this way achieves several objectives.
  First, it exposes you and your brand to a new audience or potential visitors and buyers.
  Second, it builds valuable inbound links back to your site, which aids in search engine optimization efforts.
  When your article is syndicated and distributed across the Web, you'll build tons of links and get name recognition that money can't buy.
To make the most of your articles: o    Follow the article directory's rules regarding link placement, word count and other specific guidelines.
  Failure to do so could result in a ban from the site.
o    Be sure to incorporate links into the text in accordance with the directory's rules.
  Whenever possible, make your links into anchor text for target keywords.
o    Post articles with different target keywords on each article submission site.
  There's no sense in posting more than 2 or 3 articles on each site for a specific keyword at one time - mix up your keywords and article placement for best results.
