I know the primary goal of parents is to educate and teach their children right from wrong.
The goal of every parent is to have that child succeed when the time comes to be on their own.
During this current economic downturn, where unemployment is up and the cost of living has kept at its steady incline it's very difficult for the average young person to grab their own independence.
Not often does society punish those that are high achievers, however that is what has happened to many young adults over the past year.
These young adults were well ahead of the bell curve in time it takes to purchase their first home, however they were not expecting the drastic decline in the real estate market.
Many of these first time buyers paid more for their home due to the market at the time being based on the principle of never ending appreciation.
As the market began to dip with declining values in homes and foreclosure rates began to climb, these first time buyers were sitting on negative equity.
They had to face tough choices that none of the previous generations had to face.
Should they walk away from their investment or hold out for several years, with the hope again of rising prices.
Many of these young adults took the choice of moving back with their parents until they got back on their feet.
I've seen many empty nester residences now filled to the ceiling with their adult childrens possessions from gym equipment to large fish tanks.
This is a difficult decision for any parent to go through, especially when your home was getting back to the way you liked it, clutter free.
My suggestion on organizing your home while the kids work towards righting the ship would be to purchase a variety of storage containment products.
These products vary from your basic metal storage cabinet to a jumbo storage cabinet.
Storage Cabinets come in many colors and styles from solid doors to see through with different locking systems for privacy.
Another idea is either a wardrobe cabinet if closet space is scarce to a combination storage cabinet that does a little of everything.
In the long run the cost of the cabinets is minimal compared to your sanity and you'll be able to live in your home once again instead of feeling like your in a resale shop.
