- 1). Create your introduction. The introduction should be approximately one paragraph or less in length, and explain what the article's content is in a brief and concise manner. The introduction may include a quotation, illustration or statement that you wish to discuss in your essay.
- 2). Expound on the introduction to create the body of the music essay. Use this section to talk in depth about a certain style of music or your favorite song. As you move on to additional paragraphs, make sure they all flow together so the reader understands your thought process.
- 3). Keep the style of your essay relevant to the subject matter. If the essay is serious, make sure that your writing is professional and keep the humor for more light-hearted essays.
- 4). Finish the music essay with a conclusion. After you have interested the reader in your topic and then explained it, close out the essay with an ending. Use the conclusion to sum up the body of the essay, and reiterate any points you made in the introduction that you backed up with the body of the essay.
