What is Cataract?

Cataract is a kind of eye disease that causes the clouding of the eye lens, which eventually restricts the light from reaching the retina. As a result the person gets blurred image of the of every things. So, cataract is a kind of vision disorder.

An aging person, especially after 50, has the maximum risk of getting cataract. Although, during the initial stage the impact is less but as the age grows the clouding of eyes get more opaque making the vision more blur. How is cataract Surgery performed using Lasik?

Cataract surgery takes fifteen minutes. The surgeon will make a cut in your cornea using Laser ray and then using an ultrasound-driven device to break the natural lens that has a cataract. Then your natural but cloudy lens will be removed. Then a plastic or silicon intraocular lens will be fixed in your eye. Once the operation is done, your eye will be covered by a clean shield to keep it clean and safe. You will require using the eye drops recommended by the doctor at least for a few weeks.

Post-surgery Recovery

Lasik is preferred for cataract surgery has it delivers a quick recovery process. As there is no stitching involved so the recovery is fact and also the patient need to wear the eye patch.  Also, there is no or minimal medication required in this surgery.
