Anybody can be infected with ring worm humans and animals alike.
This is a kind of infectious disease that does not come from the word worm or insect though it has a worm word on it.
This disease is also referred as "Tinea" which noticeably red in color, round in shape and flaky within its circles.
How do humans get ring worm? It can spread through direct contact with people and animals infected with ring worm.
Though not all who touched a person or animals with ring worm will readily acquire the infection it will still be depending on your immunity level, grooming habits and personal hygiene.
Normally it looks like red circular rashes with flaky skin in the middle and the edge of the skin is flaky as well.
The infection can spread to other parts of the body such as in the scalp, toe nails, groin and feet.
Ring worm in scalp has very irritable itching effects that started as a simple little pimple that grows bigger and it is very visible as patches of temporary baldness.
Indeed ring worm has been one of the major causes of baldness that requires immediate treatment.
The hair becomes brittle when your scalp is infected and it will easily break off.
There is another type of fungal infection called athlete's foot found in either one foot or both feet.
There are a number of treatment available in the market today such as anti fungal creams and lotion.
Be cautious about early signs of itching for it might be the beginning of an infectious disease.
Normally it will take for about ten days before it gets very visible in the skin.
It is important to apply generous amount of anti fungal creams on the infected area twice a day or more depending on the severity of your infection.
Before applying the cream or lotion wash first the infected area with soap and clean water then cover it with clean cloth or a band aid.
Wash with clean water and bleach all beddings, linens and other household fabrics that had come in direct contact with the rash.
If your uncovered rash touches with any household items it is advised to apply anti fungal cream or lotion again to heal the rash faster.
Ring worm is very itchy though it is not painful at all because by mere application of anti fungal creams the itchiness slowly disappears but still through scratching and itching the infection can easily spread to other parts of the body.
It is very important to be consistent in applying anti fungal creams until the infection is fully treated and the itchiness will totally disappear...
This fungal infection if left unnoticed and untreated for a certain period of time can become chronic condition to human.
There is a need of immediate treatment once signs and symptoms are visible.
The most important thing to consider is do some precautionary measures.
Have your pets regularly checked up by your veterinarian; clean the whole house at a regular interval and dog premises as well.
Most of all get some prescription from your dermatologist when you are infected to get the most desired result.
Remember also to be patient and consistent in applying the treatment as per advised by your doctor.
