Nuby Sippy Cups 10 oz Silicone Replacement Spouts - Review

Customers are raving about the new Nuby Sippy Cup 10 ounce replacement spouts. That's understandable considering that Nuby sippy cups are the favorite of many babies and toddlers worldwide. They are manufactured by a company called "Luv n Care" in Monroe Louisiana and have been made popular by the moms who buy them and the babies and toddlers who use them. They are sold two in an attractive sealed pack and combined with the 10 oz Nuby Sippy Cups would make a great gift.

The ten ounce Nuby sippy cups sell for anywhere from $2.75 (a very low discounted price) to an average of $3.75-$4.00 nationwide. Overseas the prices are much higher. They are durable cups that come in very bright colors and a style that makes the cups easy for babies and toddlers to grip.

The Nuby sippy cup 10 oz replacement spouts were introduced on Ebay sometime in July, 2007. They were in very short supply and were hard to get. Then other vendors finally received their shipments and the replacement spouts became a tad bit more abundant. Most of the spouts are selling for $1 a piece which is a real bargain. The best advice is to change the spouts about as often as you would change your child's toothbrush which is recommended at least once a month or after an illness.

This is good news for all of the moms who have babies and toddlers who have fallen in "love" in their Nuby 10 oz sippy cups. The replacement spouts work great. They are the soft silicone spouts that don't drip or spill no matter how hard you shake the cups.

I tested the Nuby sippy cup replacement spouts myself because I had heard that some moms were having leaking problems. I wanted to be sure that the product worked so I opened the package, got my granddaughter's Nuby sippy cup, popped out the old spout and popped in the new one, literally. I wanted to see if it would leak if I just put it on without paying attention to how I put it on. I filled it with water and held it over the sink.

It didn't leak. I shook it again and again and it didn't leak. Granted, I screwed the lid on nice and tight because I didn't want it to leak. I was happy that it didn't leak. I wanted to try it again. When I reopened the lid, I noticed that there were two little grooves, one on each side of the spout itself that looked like they fit somewhere. I looked on the Nuby screw on lid and sure enough, there were little raised bumps that fit in the same place where the two grooves were if you lined them up. I put the grooves and the bumps together and screwed the cap on again. It seemed to make sense. If someone was having a leaking problem, maybe it was because their grooves weren't lined up!

I shook and shook and turned it upside down and right side up and still that Nuby sippy cup did not leak. I was happy with my home made test and felt that the Nuby sippy cup replacement spouts had done their job. I gave a bunch away to family and friends and so far have no problem in recommending them to anyone who needs a replacement spout.

Make sure you check your baby's or toddler's spout often, especially after they get their teeth. If you notice leaks or spills, it's time to change the spout. Usually before they get their teeth, you won't see any leaks but after, you may.
